Ongoing Creative Practice: Studio Work, Educational Engagement, and Cultural Project Development

Metamorphosis or Entanglment II, 2023

I am a visual artist exploring the intersection of art, spiritual studies, and ecology. I consider the camera as an exceptional medium for examining the connection between matter and spirit. My artistic practice intertwines my spiritual explorations with video, photography, and creative writing, crafting pathways that invite profound insights. I engage with diverse materials, intervene landscapes, and utilize my body as both a medium and a witness, fostering interactions with the world around me. This approach enables me to produce works that reflect my inquiries into the complex web of natural, cultural, biological, and interspecies relationships that shape our existence.

CONSTRUIR LA MIRADA

VOL.1: el valor del arte femenino en la historia del arte

ENCOUNTERS ON ART: The Value of Female Art in Art History

This proposal invites you to immerse yourself in a space of deep reflection and critical analysis, where the fundamental role of female art in the transformation and enrichment of art history is recognized and celebrated. Through a carefully curated selection of emblematic works by artists from the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, a powerful and often overlooked narrative is revealed—one that encourages rediscovering and valuing new creative and cultural perspectives.

About the Proposal

Using visual images and audiovisual content (photographs, videos, interviews), we will explore the lives and contexts in which a selection of artists from around the world developed their talents. Who were and who are these women creators? What artistic legacy have they left us? Why is their vision crucial to understanding the evolution of art? We will delve into their artistic practices to connect with their desires, passions, and visions, recognizing the profound significance of their legacy within the historical, social, and cultural fabric to which they belong.

POTENCIAR LA MIRADA

POTENCIAR LA MIRADA is a creative production initiative designed for visual artists and art educators who use photography, video, drawing, painting, or sculpture as their means of expression. It offers a space to analyze their creative process and develop practical tools to enhance their artistic production. Our goal is to create a space for creation, analysis, and reflection, where each participant can express and strengthen their unique creativity and sensitivity.

What it means to be an artist is something impossible to teach. We can educate on specific techniques for each medium of expression, how to capture light or achieve a particular color, and describe artistic movements throughout art history. However, that unique encounter between a medium and a subject, combined with a particular sensitivity, is not something learned—it is discovered and nurtured over time.

What we can teach is how to observe, investigate, and ask questions. We can awaken curiosity, present challenges that encourage persistence, deeper exploration, interdisciplinary approaches, and shifts in the motivations that guide us. We can inspire and provide essential skills for artists to develop a solid creative methodology that will accompany them throughout their lives.

By using photography and other visual media such as video, drawing, painting, or sculpture as vehicles of expression that reveal our unique creativity and sensitivity, this proposal aims to offer a space for creation, analysis, and reflection. Our focus is on recognizing and examining each participant’s creative process, then identifying and developing practical tools to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their artistic production.
